"The Moffat Mens Shed are really happy to announce that we have been successful in applying for, and receiving, a very generous grant from the Annandale and Nithsdale Community Benefit Company via Foundation Scotland.
We would like to thank the benefactors for their generosity and for even considering our cause. It is a huge help to us and relieves the financial stress incurred just from the week to week running costs of the Shed unit.
This now means that we are assured of being able to pay for at least two years rent on our unit on Holm Industrial site.
It also means we will now be able to concentrate on running the Shed as it is meant to be instead of wondering if we can keep going and paying the rent ect.
Moving forward, we can now provide even more service to the local community and local projects, as well as continuing the ethos of a Mens shed.
This means providing somewhere safe for our members where they can meet to talk, drink tea and eat vast amounts of biscuits and even make things in the workshop !!
Without help with raising funds to keep us afloat, there is always the danger of losing this very important support for men's mental and physical well-being.
But, once again, thank you , and rest assured, your generous grant is helping a very deserving cause to continue helping in the Community."
